The problem

The old Squarespace site’s main button, “Book a consultation”, led to a missing page. The homepage showed two template demo posts that didn’t exist, and the contact page had no email, phone or address. Stephanie also needed to update the site herself.

How it works

• Showed three homepage directions before writing any code. The client chose one.
• Content lives in Sanity. When Stephanie presses Publish, Netlify rebuilds the site in about a minute.
• Astro renders every page to static HTML at build time. No JavaScript talks to the CMS in the browser, and the site reads fully without JavaScript.
• Moved her existing content across: 4 blog posts, 16 FAQ entries, 4 testimonials, 6 offers and 6 modalities.

Design decisions

• Lighthouse scores 99 to 100 in all four categories on every page type.
• An end-to-end test opens every page at 320px wide and checks for one h1, alt text, the phone menu and no sideways scroll.
• Old Squarespace URLs redirect to their new pages.

My part

• Everything: the plan, the three design directions, the Astro site, the Sanity Studio, the content migration, the tests.
• Wrote the handover: an editing guide for the client, a running-costs sheet and a launch checklist.

Not done yet

• Preview only. The real domain still points at Squarespace until launch.
• The CMS path hasn’t run against a live Sanity project yet. The site builds from a seed file for now.
• Waiting on the client’s final content: contact email, event dates, prices.
